MyHomeIQ, LLC ("MyHomeIQ," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights regarding that data.

This policy applies to all visitors and users of myhomeiq.io and any related services.

Information you provide directly:

• Name, email address, phone number, and ZIP code when submitting a quote request
• Project details, budget range, and timeline when requesting contractor quotes
• Business name, license number, insurance details, and payment information when registering as a contractor
• Any messages or communications you send us

Information collected automatically:

• IP address (stored as a one-way hash — we cannot recover your original IP)
• Browser type, device type, and operating system
• Pages visited, links clicked, and time spent on our site
• Referring website or search query that brought you to us
• Cookie data (see Section 7)

• To match you with up to three verified local contractors based on your project and ZIP code
• To send transactional emails (quote confirmation, contractor introductions)
• To send educational follow-up emails about your project type (you can unsubscribe at any time)
• To process contractor subscription payments via Stripe
• To improve our matching algorithms and service quality
• To detect fraud, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations
• To send affiliate offers relevant to your project (solar financing, insurance) — you can opt out

With matched contractors: When you submit a quote request, we share your name, phone, email, ZIP code, project type, and project details with up to three contractors in your area. These contractors may contact you directly. We do not control their subsequent use of your data.

With service providers: We use trusted third-party services to operate our platform:

• Supabase — database hosting (US-based)
• Stripe — payment processing (does not store your card data on our servers)
• Resend — transactional email delivery
• Vercel — website hosting and CDN
• Google Analytics — anonymous website usage statistics

We never sell your personal information to data brokers, marketers, or other third parties for their own advertising purposes.

Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the rights and safety of MyHomeIQ, our users, or the public.

We retain lead data (quote requests) for up to 24 months to facilitate contractor matching and follow-up communications. Contractor account data is retained for the duration of the account plus 12 months after closure for tax and legal purposes.

You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing privacy@myhomeiq.io. We will process deletion requests within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
• Opt-out: Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the link in any email
• California residents (CCPA): Right to know, delete, and opt out of sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate our site and understand how visitors use it. Specifically:

• Essential cookies: Required for authentication and security (e.g., contractor login sessions)
• Analytics cookies: Google Analytics — anonymous usage data to improve the site
• Preference cookies: Remember your form inputs and calculator state

You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings. Note that disabling cookies may affect some site functionality.

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, database Row Level Security (RLS), hashed passwords via Supabase Auth, and hashed IP addresses. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your contractor account.

Our Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us personal information, please contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, by email notification to registered users. Your continued use of the Service after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
